Meet The Team
Melody
CLINIC DIRECTOR
Originally from Pennsylvania, Melody moved to Baltimore to attend Towson University in 2000. She graduated summa cum laude with a BA in broadcast journalism. She later worked at Trader Joe’s as a manager, where she quickly ascended in promotions over a 4 year period. She quit when she became pregnant with her first child to help build her husband, Lance’s, chiropractic business. Developing her team members is her passion and mission. She loves seeing her employees learn and grow, and even move on to bigger and better careers as a result of their time with us. Melody handles all of the daily operations behind the scenes that keep the wheels turning at Carney Chiropractic Center.
A huge part of Melody’s life is the performing arts – she loves attending live theater and singing! She even recorded an album of lullabies for her daughter in a professional recording studio! She wanted to give her voice to Luciana as a legacy gift. Melody is also an avid essential oil user. She sells Young Living products and truly believes “life is better with essential oils”. In 2021, her focus shifted to better nutrition and healthier families through partnering with Juice Plus+. She found it easier to educate patients because of the simplicity of use, and adding this nutritional aspect to their services was the perfect fit for her passion and Dr. Loomis’ scope of practice. She loves the peer-reviewed research behind the products, and her entire family has personally benefited from using their whole food vitamins for a few years now. Her spiritual calling is to “help God’s children grow up healthy.” By sharing Juice Plus with others, she’s providing a way for them to do just that. The Healthy Starts program through Juice Plus offers 20+ years of research on children taking their vitamins, and has rock solid findings on better health for our next generation! Now that’s something we can get behind!
“I educate our patients, followers and employees all the time about chiropractic care and nutrition. It’s easy for me to spread the word and invite people to become practice members with us because I’ve been doing it my whole life. Working at Trader Joe’s taught me so much about nutrition and the dietary habits of most Americans. Juice Plus gives folks one simple change to make their bodies healthier and function at a much higher level than before by adding 20-30 whole food fruits and veggies to their daily diets. I’ve been in 5 car accidents too, and, because of chiropractic, I have little residual effects from them. My body was able to completely heal each time. Chiropractic is for everyone. It’s for the hurting. It helps heal from physical trauma. It helps maintain a healthy nervous system. It helps kids grow up healthy. It fulfills my calling in life to be part of this mission to make chiropractic a first and favorite healthcare choice in our community.”
Allison
Office Manager/Head Chiropractic Assistant
Born and raised in Frederick, Maryland, Allison moved to Towson, Maryland in 2015 to study chemistry at Towson University. She’s a proud mother of seven beautiful cats named Flora, Ophelia, Pandora, Oliver, Ozzie, Ouija and Kiska. In her free time, Allison enjoys painting with watercolors, reading poetry, and taking her cats for walks. A perfect day for Allison includes going to brunch with her friends, attempting a new recipe from Pinterest, then cozying up on her couch at night to watch foreign horror movies with her cats.
Starting off in the wellness field, Allison worked at a health-centered massage therapy office for 3 years. She loves watching people heal and assisting in patients’ health goals. She began working at Carney Chiropractic Center in 2019 as the front desk chiropractic assistant. As the “director of first impressions”, she’ll make you coffee, talk to you about your day, and get you scheduled throughout your care plan.
“I love being a part of people’s health journeys. It’s extremely rewarding watching patients come in barely able to walk and over time becoming more active and able to play with their kids and live a more carefree, healthy life.”
Katalina Andino
Junior Chiropractic Assistant
Growing up as a Baltimore native, Kat spent most of her adolescent years holding the fort down at several of her father’s restaurants in the area. After a small and unsuccessful stint studying at UMBC, she decided to pack her bags and move to DC, where she would have better opportunities progressing in the bartending and nightlife scene.
After half a decade in the trenches, she decided it was time to hang her bar apron up and pursue a life that felt more fulfilling and purposeful to her, and after pondering it for some time, she realized that assisting others by pursuing a career in medicine would help her achieve this goal. Although a fresh face in the field, Kat is excited to soak in all of the knowledge and experience that she can here, so that she can be able to assist each person that walks through the door with their health journey to the best of her abilities.
“When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, strength cannot fight, intelligence cannot be applied, art cannot become manifest, wealth becomes useless.” – Herophilus
On her days off, you’ll find Kat fermenting spirits and wine with her sister who is a fermentation sciences major at UMD College Park, brushing off the cobwebs on her mixology knowledge, and listening to podcasts (particularly ones about medical mysteries, true crime, and breaking news in the bar world).
She’s also a huge music lover and devotes a lot of her time to checking out new artists on Soundcloud and attending various shows and festivals as well. Kat is fairly well traveled (having trekked around the Americas, Europe, and Asia) and she’s always brainstorming for the next big adventure!
